The Great Flood is the disaster that wiped out all the creatures of the Earth. It is also the same tragedy that drove humans to the brink of extinction.
For over the years, many have been debating if the catastrophe happened or not. Creationists believe that everything happened as it is in the Bible. On the other hand, science enthusiasts counter it with fact and claim that every word is impossible to happen here in the natural world.
No matter what you or everyone accepts as true, we cannot deny the lessons we can learn from the man whom God chose to save the rest of His creation: Noah. Here are valuable life lessons we can learn from the guy and how we should apply this into our children’s lives:
- Perseverance
Just like today’s day and age, the people during Noah’s time have been blind and deaf to the calls of the Father. They continue to do wicked deeds in order to satisfy their own selfish desires. Despite the hopelessness, Noah carried on in warning the people of the upcoming catastrophe.
As a 21st century learner, your child needs to be as persistent as Noah. No matter how people continue to mock them, as long as they are on the right path, God will bless them in the years to come.
- Righteousness
Despite the fact that everyone is embracing the ways of evil, Noah rejected the norm. He continued being God’s servant even if it made him the crazy guy in town. Being dubbed as the weirdo can put anyone down. But that did not stop Noah from doing what the Lord thinks is right.
It is a cruel world out there. Even the worst people are the ones on top of the society. The Machiavellian principle may be tempting to abide by but it is the righteous that shall triumph in the end.
Children should know that it is more important to be good to achieve your goal than to resort to evil to chase your dreams.
- Obedience
What saved Noah and his family from the Great Flood? Is it the massive boat that was created? Actually, the answer is his obedience to the Father. Mankind would never have existed if not for this family’s respect to do the will of the Father. Indeed, this is proof that one’s compliance can save the world.
We have to consider the fact that we need to display obedience to our superiors and to our God. With the younger generation full of values and goodness, we would have hope for the future of this country and for the rest of the world.
